About me:
As a multifaceted legal professional, I am proud to serve a diverse clientele across Ontario and British Columbia, and globally in immigration matters. I am a licensed paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario, offering extensive legal services in Ontario including Small Claims Court matters, Landlord and Tenant Law, Provincial Offences, Immigration Matters, Employment and Employee Disputes, Human Rights Commission Matters, Traffic Offences, Statutory Accident Benefits Claims, Summary Criminal Matters, and more. In addition, I hold a special class of license as an immigration consultant with the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council, empowering me to represent clients in various immigration tribunals and hearings. My commitment to accessibility and convenience is reflected in my roles as a Commissioner of Oaths in Ontario and British Columbia, and as a Notary Public for Ontario, where I provide notarial and commissioning services both in person and remotely.
My journey in the legal field has led me to participate in the Law Society of British Columbia's innovative sandbox initiative, aimed at regulating paralegal licenses in British Columbia. This opportunity allows me to offer a range of legal services in BC, including drafting legal documents, providing legal advice, conducting legal research, negotiation, facilitating settlements, and representing clients in arbitration, mediation, and before various tribunals and the Provincial Court in areas like Small Claims Court, Traffic and Bylaw Tickets, Civil Resolution Tribunal, Human Rights Tribunal, and more. It's important to note, as part of the BC Law Society's sandbox, that the legal services I provide in BC do not come with the same protections as those offered by a licensed paralegal or lawyer regulated by the Law Society of British Columbia, including the potential requirement to disclose client communications and the lack of professional liability insurance. (Only for BC).
My/our services to clients in Ontario and my immigration services all around the world are regulated through my licenses and are protected by insurance. In BC, however, because the innovation sandbox of the licensing regime of paralegals is in progress of development and I am currently only allowed to provide these legal services, the following disclosure is required by the Law Society of BC to be provided by me. The following disclosure applies only to my services in BC and not in Ontario or Immigration services: My/our services to you are not provided by a lawyer regulated by the Law Society of British Columbia. As a result: (a) I/we could be required to disclose to third parties your communications with me/us and any documents you provide in relation to my/our advice and assistance as such communication will not be subject to solicitor-client privilege; and (b) I/we am/are not required to have professional liability insurance. (c) There is no statutory complaint process in relation to the services that I/we provide and (d) the Law Society of British Columbia has not evaluated or verified my/our competence, character, and/or fitness to provide the services.
